Frequently Asked Questions

  • While teletherapy is a wonderful tool, it is not right for everyone. It helps to know yourself a bit and your comfort level with online video platforms (think Facetime, Whatsapp video chat). When using these platforms with friends and family, for example, do you feel you're able to be yourself and speak comfortably? That's a good indication of whether teletherapy may work for you.

  • Finding the right therapist for you may involve a bit of trial and error (which is completely normal!). I always recommend having consult calls with a few different therapists to really get a vibe of who feels right for you. A good way to get a sense is very similar to when meeting anyone new - check in how well you connect with the person and how comfortable you feel during the initial phone call.

    • Do you feel comfortable (relatively speaking, you're still strangers at this point)?

    • Do you feel the therapist is giving you space to ask questions and be uncertain?

    • Do you feel the therapist is answering your questions?

If the answer is yes, and you felt like you connected, go ahead and book a session.

  • One of my missions is to make therapy accessible. I offer sliding scale options when deemed appropriate. Feel free to reach out and we can discuss together.
